Portofino Luxury Yacht Charter Guide – Book a Yacht

Portofino is a beautiful village flanked by pastel-coloured houses and multi-coloured fishing boats bobbing on the surface.

The waterfront piazza is great for shopping in the designer boutiques or for having a dinner in a wonderful restaurant.

From Portofino harbour, visit Church of St. Martin (Divo Martino), the Castello Brown hilltop fortress and then climb the flight of stairs signposted Salita San Giorgio to the plaza of Chiesa di San Giorgio. Here there is an unforgettable view! Enjoy aerial views of Portofino’s quintessential piazzetta, the meeting place of many an international jet-setter.

Portofino is considered the jewel of the Italian Riviera and during peak summer season the harbour Molo Umbero I is particularly popular with the best Super Yacht. The season in Portofino starts in April with beautiful Spring day and go on until October. The peak season is in Summer, from June to August.

Getting there: the nearest Airport is in Genoa, about 40 km. It is served mainly by Ryanair, British Airways  and Air France. From Genoa to Portofino we can arrange a private transfer with luxury cars. The are no trains to Portofino, only to the near city, Santa Margherita Ligure.

Where to embark, our advice: The Marina Genoa port.  Just a couple of miles from Genoa’s World Heritage Historic Centre, 5 minutes from Genoa Airport with a dedicated shuttle service for clients and just down the coast from some of the most renowned resorts in the whole Med: Portofino, Portovenere, Porto Cervo and Saint Tropez.

Our nautical advice: Book in advance your yacht and your berth in Portofino Molo Umberto I, especially in July and August.

Tips: During your Yacht holiday, after being dropped off at San Fruttuoso, visit the Abbey of San Fruttuoso and then snorkel or dive around the Christ of the Abyss, a bronze statue of Jesus Christ, submerged 50ft underwater.

Don’t forget: swim in the child-free, sun-warmed Paraggi bay.

Our food advice: during your Charter don’t forget the renowned local cuisine: fresh-caught anchovies, hand-rolled trofie pasta with Genovese pesto sauce and cheese-filled focaccia, a specialty that recently earned I.G.P. status, a prestigious Italian designation for quality food products.

Where to buy Ligurian products: Niasca Portofino. One of the goals of Niasca Portofino is to show the Liguria region and Portofino’s typical products in a simple and accesible way.
